About the producer
Mullugeta Muntasha was not a coffee farmer from the start – his career began as a truck driver in the Sidama region of Ethiopia. In 2021, he returned to his home region of Bursa and founded the Dawencho washing station, which is available to local smallholders. His goal is to promote sustainable growth and to strengthen and support the regional coffee producer community.

About the variety
The Jimma Agricultural Research Centre (JARC), one of Ethiopia's state research centres, released 74158 in 1979. This variety originates from the Metu Bishari selections, which were obtained from mother plants in the Metu Woreda of the Illuababora zone.

The 74158 variety was selected and further propagated due to its high yield potential and resistance to coffee berry disease.
