About this coffee
A modern espresso from September and Irineo Ramirez. In the cup, this coffee displays a sweet, nutty, and pleasantly smooth profile. The flavors are reminiscent of hazelnuts, almonds, and baked apples, accompanied by a milk chocolate sweetness and a creamy body. The acidity is gentle and restrained, while the finish is long-lasting and leaves a delicate, sweet warmth.

About the producer
Irineo lives in El Durazno, one of the more remote villages around Mataquescuintla – but also a region with the highest altitudes within the producer group. There, he cultivates a small piece of land of about 3 hectares together with his brothers-in-law Gregorio and Rene Muñoz.
About the variety
A natural mutation of Typica, which can be traced back to a single gene that causes the plants to grow more compactly. This allows them to be planted more densely and deliver higher yields
The variety was discovered in 1949 on the Brito Farm in Santa Cruz Naranjo, Santa Rosa, Guatemala. It was then further developed through mass selection: plants with particularly good characteristics are selected, their seeds collected and used for the next generation. This process was carried out across several private farms in Guatemala, enabling the variety to be spread to other regions and countries later on.
